Fees and payments
What FixMySystem costs
Posting a job and comparing quotes is free. There is no subscription to bid on work and no charge for listing a machine. The platform fee only applies to work that is agreed and paid through FixMySystem, and it is shown in the quote breakdown before you commit.
If you own the machine
£0
to post and compare quotes
- Posting a job is free, including photos and machine records.
- A 10% platform fee is added to the engineer's agreed price when you pay through FixMySystem.
- Card processing costs are absorbed by the platform, so paying by card does not add a charge.
If you are the engineer
10%
platform commission on agreed work
- No subscription is needed to bid for jobs.
- You set your own price, rates and out-of-hours terms.
- Your payout is the agreed price less the platform commission, released against milestones.
How payment is handled
Per milestone
released as work is signed off
- You pay FixMySystem, not the engineer directly.
- Each milestone is approved against completed work.
- Payouts to engineers are made through the platform's payment provider.
Worked example
An engineer quotes £1,000 for a fixed-price repair, split into three milestones.
| Engineer's agreed price | £1,000.00 |
| Platform fee added for the customer (10%) | £100.00 |
| Total paid by the customer | £1,100.00 |
| Engineer payout (agreed price less 10% commission) | £900.00 |
Figures are illustrative of the fee structure only. The exact amount for your job is shown in the quote breakdown next to each bid, and again on the invoice.
Optional paid plans
Engineers working as a team can add the Engineer Enterprise plan for multi-engineer crews. It is optional — bidding on jobs does not require it. Pricing is shown on the plan page inside your account.

The Fair Pay Policy sets out payment outcomes, what evidence is required and what happens when a fixed-price repair cannot be completed.
